The Beach Club Pattaya Review: The Pullman Hotel’s Offering

Thinking of visiting The Beach Club Pattaya at the Pullman Resort? We’d recommend reading our review before you do.

The online presence for The Beach Club Pattaya is, frankly, an absolute mess, and it makes it hard to know what you’re booking, what’s on offer or even where it is.

We can’t work out why this should be, as it’s part of The Pullman Hotel, which is a very reputable international chain of 5-star hotels with a well-earned reputation for excellence.

However, our team put in the hard yards and slogged through a chain of confusing online presences to get some seats and find out whether it’s worth all the effort that they went to. This is what our reviewers thought of The Beach Club Pattaya.

Introduction – Getting To The Beach Club Pattaya

We think we should tackle booking at this beach club before we get to physically getting there. You need to visit their Instagram page (link below), then their Link Tree, which is linked from there, which will then take you to Seven Rooms, a restaurant booking site.

You will also need to decide which area you want to book with absolutely no guidance on LinkTree or their main website (which is part of The Pullman website).

After you’ve secured your reservation (more on this later), you will need to get to Pattaya, which means a flight to Bangkok and then an internal flight to Pattaya for most international travellers.

We find most people opt to spend a few days in Bangkok to get over the worst of the journey before the final leg.

Once you’re in Pattaya, this is a very conveniently located club near the beach on the front of the Pullman Resort, where you can find parking or be dropped off by your tuk-tuk, ride-share, taxi, etc.

However, if you thought that the website was confusing, finding the front door of the beach club can be as much of a challenge as booking a bed, and you should ask the staff for directions.

What’s Available At The Beach Club Pattaya?

There is a pleasant pool area, beach access, a swing for Instagram photos, and bar and restaurant facilities. This beach club is sometimes known as The Beach Club Restaurant, The Pullman Pattaya, but it is a beach club, not just a restaurant.

Our Detailed Review For The Beach Club Pattaya

We adopt a consistent method for reviewing each beach club to promote fair treatment of owners, management, and staff, and to provide reviews in a uniform structure that facilitates straightforward venue comparisons.

The review procedure is structured as follows:

  • A review team is selected to evaluate the venue.
  • All members are required to visit the beach club, though they can visit individually and not on the same day.
  • At the venue, each reviewer fills out a scorecard, assigning the club a score from 1 (lowest performance) to 5 (highest performance) across designated categories, while also documenting their impressions.
  • Once all scorecards are submitted, the team meets to review their findings and agree on final category scores.
  • A designated team member then writes the review, reflecting the group’s consensus and scores, before it is posted on our website.

Reservation and Booking Process

Sometimes, we feel like beach clubs go out of their way to annoy us with terrible booking systems, but the mess of websites that The Beach Club Pattaya uses stands out as especially bad, even by the standards of other Southeast Asian beach clubs.

There is no booking system at all on the main website for this beach club, which is part of the site for The Pullman Pattaya.

You can find a link on their Instagram which takes you to a Link Tree which, in turn, offers you a chance to take a look at the menu or to book seats.

Then, after landing on a third website, you have to decide which seats with absolutely no indication as to what they’re like and what they mean before you’re shown pricing for those seats.

After that, you can select the date when you want to book and complete the form. But you can’t pay a deposit for your seats, so you have exactly 15 minutes to get there after the booking time, or you lose your seat. This is farcically bad. And The Pullman Group can and frankly should do better.

Rating:

Ambience and Atmosphere

There’s a certain vibe to hotel beach clubs that can’t be disguised once you’ve visited a few places around this region.

They’re places where families and friends can get together for some food and drink by the sea, and there’s a certain muted vibe to the whole thing as everyone tries extra hard to be considerate of everyone else.

It’s not unpleasant, but it’s not the liveliest of atmospheres either. However, it does lend itself to relaxing in the sun, and you can’t really argue too hard with that.

Rating:

Location And Accessibility

Getting to Pattaya’s the hard part because there are few direct flights outside of the region and most people are going to have to bounce in Bangkok.

Fortunately, it’s a very short flight from Bangkok to Pattaya, so you don’t need to spend forever and a day in the sky.

Once you are in Pattaya, this club is very accessible from all parts of the area, and it shouldn’t take longer than 30-60 minutes to get there.

However… the actual entrance to this beach club is somewhat hidden, and it can be an annoying challenge to work out how to get in. Just ask the staff at The Pullman, they’ll be happy to help.

Rating:

Aesthetic And Design

The other half of hotel beach clubs is that you’re always looking at a place that will be very nicely laid out, where you can take some great Instagram photos, but where the corporate vibe is always present.

They’re always too uniform, the branding efforts shine through, and so on. Again, this isn’t a bad thing, but it does make these places more predictable than, perhaps, they need to be.

We don’t think this is going to spoil anyone’s day out. 5-star hotels are popular, in part, because they have a reliable look and feel, and there are no surprises, but they are reliably nice.

Rating:

Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)

Thailand is not known as the Land of Smiles for nothing, and you can easily see that top resorts like The Pullman get to draw on the top end of the talent pool and then refine their natural warmth and friendliness into something even better.

The staff at this hotel are super professional, and this carries over to their beach club too. If something is within their power to help you make your day nicer, they will make sure it’s done.

If not, they will try very hard to find somebody who can. And every interaction with the staff here is going to ensure that you think highly of them and the Pullman brand.

Rating:

Service Speed and Efficiency

You won’t be waiting for attention at this beach club. In keeping with the best of the hotels in the region, the staff here almost seem to anticipate when a guest will need their assistance and swiftly materialise as soon as they are needed.

We also found that any drinks came from the bar in a speedy fashion, and nothing seemed to hang around any longer than it would take to cook in the kitchen, either.

Our team were also pleased to note that when they asked for the bill at the end of the day, it arrived promptly, as did their change.

Rating:

Food Quality and Variety

With a main menu and two side menus at the time of our visits, we felt that this may be the first beach club we’ve been to with too much in the way of options for food.

That’s not to say that the food is bad; in fact, some of the Thai food at this beach club is among the best we’ve ever had, and it’s fairly reasonably priced considering it’s a 5-star hotel beach club. In fact, it’s cheaper than many of its competitors in Pattaya.

The food is delicious and the ingredients are fresh and first-rate. We just wish they’d narrow the choices a little so that we didn’t have to spend an hour working out what we wanted to eat.

Rating:

Beverage Selection and Creativity

The drink selection is excellent, though it’s a bit more expensive than the average beach club in Pattaya, probably because it’s in a 5-star hotel.

We found that the cocktails were beautifully presented in a full range of glassware, so everything tasted exactly as it should. They looked great in our Instagram feed.

Importantly, the alcoholic drinks were all strong enough to justify their steep price tags. The mocktails felt a bit pricey, though; syrup with some Sprite shouldn’t cost 5 times the price of a Sprite by itself.

Rating:

Cleanliness and Hygiene

As you would expect in a high-end 5-star property, the cleanliness of this beach club is first-rate rate and we saw nothing during our time at this beach club that made us at all nervous about the hygiene.

The pool, changing rooms, showers, and toilets were all spotless, and we assume that the kitchens adhere to the same standards.

Rating:

Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

There’s definitely a touch of luxury in the daybeds, but the restaurant seating isn’t all that comfortable, and while we’d be happy to lounge around by the pool all day long, we don’t think we’d want to hang about very long after eating at a table.

To be fair, they’re more fluid about seating arrangements here than they are at some beach clubs, and you can ditch your bed for a couple of hours and then come back to it.

Rating:

Music and Entertainment

This venue is all about piped music, which is what you’d expect for a hotel beach club, and it’s the height of family-friendly middle-of-the-road mediocrity that you’d expect too.

There’s nothing offensive or unpleasant about it, but we’d defy anyone to name three songs they heard at this beach club a week after their visit.

Rating:

Seasonality

This is Pattaya, so in theory, it’s tropical weather all year round. In reality, the wet season here can be super wet with non-stop rain for weeks on end.

If you need to visit a tropical destination in the wet season, go to Bali, where it only rains for a couple of hours at most every other day rather than bucketing it down.

Otherwise, there are no restrictions on operations, and the beach club is open all year round, with some exceptions for public holidays and elections. So, it’s always best to check if they’re open before you visit.

Rating:

Pricing and Value for Money

We were pleasantly surprised by the pricing at The Beach Club Pattaya. The food is very reasonable for a 5-star hotel, and the drinks are not too excessively priced.

The minimum spend is all credited back as a food and beverage credit, which is better than some of the competing beach clubs in town, and there’s no entrance fee or onerous requirements to purchase a bottle.

So, while it’s not the best value for money that we’ve ever seen at a beach club, it’s very good all the same.

Rating:

Beach Access and Quality

The beach at this club is very pleasant. The sand is soft underfoot and pleasant for walking on. However, it’s not always spotlessly clean despite the best efforts of the beach clean-up crew, thanks to things washing up from the ocean.

We also have to point out that all the ocean water in Pattaya is not fit for swimming. There’s a serious pollution issue in the area that is entirely outside of the control of the beach clubs, but we strongly recommend that you stick to the pool when you’re here.

You do get a nice sunset view from this beach, though.

Rating:

Sustainability Practices

Rather surprisingly, there’s no public statement of a commitment to sustainability and no published sustainability reporting for this beach club.

It’s 2025, we’d expect a big-name brand like the Pullman to do better than that.

Rating:

Exclusive Perks for Guests

Your minimum spend gets you a daybed and a towel. That’s pretty standard for beach clubs in Southeast Asia, and it’s fair value for money.

However, it would be nice to see a premium tier or VIP tier where you could pick a few more perks, even if you had to commit to a little more spending.

We really feel that many beach clubs are missing a trick with this. When we’re on holiday, we like to treat ourselves, so please, facilitate that.

Rating:

Safety and Security

They do a bag check when entering this beach club, which is a positive thing for the safety and security of guests.

We also felt that the hotel’s security team was large enough and visible enough to ensure that trouble is kept to a minimum and won’t affect other guests if it does happen.

Rating:

Event Hosting Capabilities

There is no indication that this beach club offers hosting for private events. The Pullman Resort does offer event hosting in other areas, though.

Rating:

Consistency of Experience

Hotel beach clubs are a paragon of consistency, and this one is no exception. If you want a pleasant family day out, it’s a good place for it.

But we didn’t see any indication of the hotel trying to improve on this experience and really set itself apart from its competitors either.

Rating:

Additional Amenities and Facilities

This is a 5-star hotel beach club, and it has all the basic amenities and facilities that you could expect at a beach club of this kind.

And if you need anything else, you should be able to find it easily within a short distance of this hotel.

Rating:

Summary

Overall, this is a very nice hotel beach club with everything that you could expect from this kind of facility.

It’s not going to be a party place, and it’s not selling itself as one either, but if you want to kill some time in Pattaya with your family or friends in a chill setting by the beach, this is a good place for it.

We’d also note that the prices are reasonable and there are no annoying entrance fees or mandatory spending on bottles, etc.

If we were passing by The Beach Club Pattaya, we’d certainly stop in for lunch and if we had some free time, we might spend an afternoon by the pool too.

FAQs

Can You Go Swimming At The Beach Club Pattaya?

Yes, you can swim at The Beach Club Pattaya. There is an attractive pool area, and as long as you are either a hotel guest or have agreed to a minimum spend and the use of a daybed for the day, you will be provided with a towel and are free to use the pool all day long.

Visitors who have only booked seats in the restaurant may be allowed access to the pool at the venue’s discretion, but there will be an additional charge for this privilege.

The pool area is well-maintained and very clean, and you will be very happy to swim in this pool.

However, while there is beach access, we strongly recommend that you do not swim in the ocean at this beach club.

While the currents are perfectly safe in this part of Pattaya, the water quality is not, and the ocean here is so polluted that you may find yourself very ill if you swim here.

It’s especially important that you don’t let kids swim in the ocean here. The problem has been understood for over a decade now, but the local authorities don’t seem to have taken any real action to address this.

The issue is not within the remit of any beach club to deal with, and it’s simply too big a problem for the local business community to tackle. Much of the pollution is washed in from ditches, canals and other watercourses inland.

So, we strongly advise you to stick to the pool for your swimming at The Beach Club Pattaya.

What Is There To Do At The Beach Club Pattaya?

This is your typical hotel beach club facility, which means there are a variety of seating areas that are designed for relaxing rather than for partying.

There are bar and restaurant facilities as well as a pleasant pool area. There’s not much else going on, though you can hire some basic watersports equipment from the hotel.

Is The Beach Club Pattaya A Child-Friendly Venue?

Yes, The Beach Club Pattaya is family-friendly, as is The Pullman Resort and nearly all of its associated facilities.

However, there are no special facilities for kids at this beach club, and they will need to keep themselves entertained.

We should note that you are expected to keep an eye on your children in Southeast Asia, both to ensure their safety (there are no lifeguards on duty on the beach, and there may not be any by the pool either) and to ensure they don’t annoy other guests.

Who Is The Owner Of The Beach Club Pattaya?

The Beach Club Pattaya is part of The Pullman Resort Pattaya, which is part of the Pullman Hotels and Resorts Group, which is owned by the French multinational company Accor.

Accor also operates the Raffles, Fairmont and Orient Express brands among many others.

Final Thoughts On The Review Of The Beach Club Pattaya

The booking system for this beach club is so frustrating that we wouldn’t blame anyone for giving up and booking elsewhere instead. Given that the club is owned by a hospitality giant, there’s just no excuse for this state of affairs.

But if you do decide to persevere, then you’re going to find a very pleasant hotel beach club that is ideal for relaxing with friends and family for the day.

We would note that, unlike some beach clubs in Pattaya, the minimum spend is fully credited towards your bill and that there is no entrance fee or mandatory bottle charge.

There is, of course, a priority for hotel guests at this beach club, but they welcome outside guests, and as long as you have secured a reservation, you should enjoy a trouble-free day at this lovely spot by the ocean. Just don’t go swimming in the sea anywhere in Pattaya.
