Yes, the reason for our headline is that Cove Beach is inside La Vie in the Jumeirah Beach Residence, one of the largest complexes in Dubai.
If you’re in the mood for a beachfront location, with a stylish pool and some very picturesque views and perhaps a shisha bar to revel in the local smoking culture, then Cove Beach might be what you’re looking for.
Or at least, that’s what they say in the brochures. To find out how accurate they were, our review team was cajoled into spending another hard day drinking cocktails, lounging around on daybeds and eating food on their expensive accounts to investigate.
And this is what they learned when they went to Cove Beach, Dubai.
Introduction – Getting To Cove Beach, Dubai

Getting to Dubai has never been easier. While the emirate was an obscure blip on the map in the world’s largest sand desert not so long ago, the discovery of oil in the UAE led to a boom like almost no other in human history.
Now, the emirate is all shining steel and flashing wealth as the fruits of the black gold rush bloom from the sands.
And the airport, which was originally built to capture the connecting flights market from Asia and Europe, has become one of the largest and busiest on the planet.
People no longer fly through Dubai; they fly to it and then spend their holidays enjoying some of the best tax-free shopping opportunities on the planet.
And if they get the chance between snapping up new Rolexes, they might also visit a beach club like Cove Beach.
The Jumeirah Beach Residence is in the most popular part of Dubai for tourists, so most people will find that Cove Beach is a short taxi ride or drive away (though if you’re coming from further away, make sure to check the traffic – it can be brutal around Sheikh Zayed Road).
And when you arrive, you can be dropped off at the entrance point, or you can drop yourself off and hand your keys to the inevitable valet parking service waiting for them. This is Dubai after all.

What’s Available At Cove Beach, Dubai?
Cove Beach has a beach club with a restaurant, bar and comfy seating areas, as well as FUMAR their Sheesha Lounge. Interestingly, it’s also an art gallery with some of the best and boldest modern art around on display.
Check out pieces for LUXX Art, Richard Orlinski and other major talents. They intend the collection to be both thought-provoking and inspiring for their guests.
You also get a nice view of the Dubai Eye from most of this beach club.
Our Detailed Review Of Cove Beach, Dubai
We consistently apply a standardised method to evaluate every beach club, ensuring fair treatment for owners, management, and staff, and providing reviews in a uniform format that streamlines venue comparisons.
The evaluation process is structured as follows:
- A team is assigned to assess the venue.
- Each member must visit the beach club, with the option to visit independently and on different days.
- During their visit, every reviewer completes a scorecard, rating the club from 1 (least proficient) to 5 (most proficient) in specified categories, while also documenting their observations.
- After all team members have submitted their scorecards, they gather to discuss their experiences and finalise scores for each category.
- A designated team member then drafts the review, incorporating the team’s discussions and final scores, before it is published on our website.
Reservation and Booking Process
Dubai is the home of dozens of multi-million dollar beach clubs, and it appears that none of them can spend even a tiny amount of money on making a working booking engine for their website.
Cove Beach stands out, however, as particularly inept at this, even in a field of some of the worst booking processes we’ve ever encountered.
Their “reserve” buttons take you to a broken WhatsApp link; they do have a WhatsApp, an email and a phone number on the site, which you can use to negotiate through to a daybed, but what a pain.
There really is no excuse for this nonsense in the current era. Websites are not new and being able to book a seat ought to be easier than this. A booking system also helps people pay a deposit. which, in turn, makes holding people’s reservations easier for the club.
Thus, Cove Beach starts with the unenviable result of picking up no marks in this category. What a shame.
Ambience and Atmosphere

They’ve only recently opened the pool area and terrace restaurant, which make up the heart of this beach club, and it’s very glamorous, indeed.
However, we did feel that the daybeds are a bit tight together and that makes things a little forced at first.
Once you’ve been in the club for a while, you forget about it and things soon seem to be every bit as bright as the Dubai sun, but as first impressions go, it could be better.
There’s a chill vibe to this place for most of the day, which is exactly what we’re looking for in a beach club in Dubai.
Location And Accessibility

This is one of the most accessible places in all of the emirate. Jumeirah is one of the most popular destinations with tourists and visitors, and thus, most people are likely to be staying in the neighbourhood of Cove Beach even if they’re not staying at the JBR.
It’s a short drive away from most places, though you will need to allow for traffic if you’re trying to cross town in rush hour, particularly on the weekends.
Otherwise, this is a lovely beach club location, and it’s nice to see the Dubai Eye looming large over it.
Some of the club is also wheelchair accessible, which is a good thing.
Aesthetic And Design

The best part of this club is screened off from the peasants – they’re the private jacuzzi pools, which enjoy uninterrupted views out over the ocean to Ain Dubai.
The trouble is that we feel everyone should share in the joys of the best views in a space like this, not see them auctioned off to the highest bidder, as it were.
The rest of the club is very attractive, but we feel that we’re let down by being kept away from the goodies by a paywall.
Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)
Dubai is fortunate to have access to the top tier of talent around the globe when it comes to service staff, and there’s no doubt that Covebeach makes the best of that.
Combine that with some of the best training professionals on Earth, and you end up with staff who epitomise friendliness and professionalism as they do at this beach club.
They know their menu, the local area, etc. and are always happy to go the extra mile if they can to make your day a good one.
Service Speed and Efficiency
You can’t fail to be impressed by the speed and efficiency of the service in this beach club. Everywhere in Dubai is good at this, but Coverbeach is definitely in the top tier.
When you want something, your order is taken in a heartbeat and then doesn’t seem to hang back for any longer than it could take to prepare or cook it.
This is a very nice touch and one that we appreciated very much.
Food Quality and Variety

The food menu is big enough that you won’t get bored, and we thought the quality of the food was definitely above “pub grub”.
The ingredients seemed fresh, and every dish was tasty with decent portion sizes.
Beverage Selection and Creativity
Similarly, the beverage selection was good, and everything was well prepared and well-presented. This is Dubai, so it’s all a bit expensive, but not out of line with the emirate’s other beach clubs.
They have a fairly short list of mocktails, though.
Cleanliness and Hygiene

We’ve yet to encounter a venue in Dubai that is anything other than spotlessly clean. The emirate brings in people from all over the world to earn much more than they could at home, and that means they get the best staff in every category.
The cleaners at Covebeach are clearly world class and everything gleams in the sunshine as you’d like it to.
The pool is lovely too, with clear water that you’ll love to swim in.
Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

We thought the furniture at Covebeach was among the very best that we’d tried in Dubai; our team felt that they’d gone all out to provide comfort.
Given that it all looks great and will brighten up your Instagram feed, that’s definitely a good thing, and you’ll find that lounging by the pool all day is exceptionally easy at this place.
Music and Entertainment

The music, once the live DJs get going, is OK. We didn’t find anything exceptional about the set lists that we enjoyed while we were there, but they also didn’t drag the mood down.
Overall, while they do have “parties”, this is not a wild party animal kind of a place, and the music policy seems to reflect this.
Think of it as fun with a few restraints to stop things from going totally off the rails, and you’ll know what it’s like at Covebeach.
Seasonality

It’s Dubai, one of the world’s hottest and sunniest places. It stands on the edge of the Empty Quarter, the largest desert on the planet.
Rain doesn’t come to Dubai very often, and when it does, it doesn’t last very long. So, you’re guaranteed (almost) to have good weather whenever you come.
However, it is brutally hot, and we strongly encourage you to spend as much time in the shade as possible and to focus on rehydration. Sunstroke and sunburn are no fun.
Pricing and Value for Money
We don’t find Covebeach’s pricing to be particularly out of line with Dubai’s local pricing, but there’s no doubt that these beach clubs are very expensive when compared to the global scene.
Is it good value for the emirate? For sure. Is it good value compared to Bali or Thailand? Not so much.
You won’t feel cheated as long as you’re used to Dubai pricing, but if you’re not, then you may feel a little sticker shock.
Beach Access and Quality

It’s another reclaimed land beach, which means that the sand is imported, soft underfoot, and immaculately looked after by the beach club staff.
It also means that the water quality isn’t great and that you probably won’t want to swim in the ocean here, but who cares with a pool area like the one at Cove Beach?
Overall, it’s a very pleasant beach, but we would strongly recommend that you wear footwear at all times on the sand; the Dubai heat will happily burn through the soles of your feet if you let it.
Sustainability Practices
Cove Beach has made some minor moves towards sustainability and has replaced plastic straws with biodegradable ones. They hold regular beach clean-ups and have installed energy-efficient lighting.
However, we feel that this isn’t making huge inroads into an area that every business should be getting involved with.
We’d like some proper commitments, including targets, and we’d like them to be clearly communicated, audited and then reported on. It’s 2025, and huge brands like this one should show some responsibility for the world they operate in.
Exclusive Perks for Guests

They’ll throw in a towel with your daybed, and well, that’s about it. And yes, that’s very much the standard for Dubai, and we can’t fathom why.
We want to be pampered on our beach holidays, and one of the easiest ways to improve the beach club experience is to offer VIP or Premium benefits (yes, at a cost). But they don’t, and thus, the lost marks.
Safety and Security
Dubai has a global reputation for safety, and that’s because everyone in the emirate takes security seriously, and Covebeach has discreet vehicle and bag checks as necessary.
We support this approach; we think that safety should be a top priority everywhere, and it’s always a little sad to have to knock marks off in this category.
We’d also stress that wherever you are in the venue, there is a noticeable security presence, and we doubt that if any trouble were to start, it would ever have the opportunity to spread to other people around them.
Event Hosting Capabilities

Dubai is all about MICE, and pretty much every beach club in the emirate is staffed with a top-quality events team, and Cove Beach is no exception.
They say that they can handle everything from luxurious, intimate parties with smaller groups right up to huge corporate events.
Given the expertise in Dubai in this field, we have no doubt that they will do an excellent job of anything that you can throw at them in this category.
Consistency of Experience
Consistency is a hallmark of most beach clubs in Dubai. The ultra-conservative emirate has its standards of excellence, and everyone tries to adhere to them, lest they fall by the wayside.
So, it won’t come as a surprise that our review team, the customers that they spoke to while they were in the venue, and online reviews agree that Covebeach is remarkably consistent in delivering a nice day out.
However, consistency often comes at the price of not pursuing excellence, and we felt that was also true of this beach club.
Additional Amenities and Facilities

The Cove Beach Club offers pretty much everything that we’d expect for a casual hangout place by the sea, and you should find that you don’t need to pack heavily for your day here.
However, if you can’t find something that you do need, you won’t have to travel too far for it. You’re in the heart of Jumeirah, and this is Dubai; there’s almost nothing here that money can’t buy.
Summary

There’s no denying that Cove Beach is very good at what it does. If you’re looking for a place to spend a day in Dubai in a relaxing and fun fashion with some good food and drinks, you’ll be happy to be here.
While it doesn’t particularly stand out among a sea of luxury beach clubs in the emirate, that also means that there’s nothing bad about the experience here, too.
You’re going to find that if you just visit this place as part of your Dubai holiday, it will be very memorable. But if you visit a lot of beach clubs, it will start to blur into most of the others here pretty quickly.
FAQs
Can You Go Swimming At Cove Beach, Dubai?
Yes, there’s a large pool at Cove Beach, which is ideal for swimming. We should note that, as with many beach clubs in Dubai, if swimming is a “must-do” for you, then it’s a good idea to arrive early in the day.
When the club starts to fill out over the course of the day, more and more people will spend a lot of their day in the pool to try and escape the Dubai heat. At this point, there may be no path to swim a length, let alone laps, etc.
You could also, perhaps, swim in the sea at this beach club, but given that nobody does that in Dubai, as the water around reclaimed land projects is not very nice and there’s always the risk of riptides, it’s best to stick to the pool.
What Is There To Do At Cove Beach, Dubai?
You can eat, drink, swim and relax at Cove Beach. If they have an event on (and this is more of a rarity than at some of Dubai’s other beach clubs), you may also find they have live music.
Is Cove Beach, Dubai, A Child-Friendly Venue?
Yes, Cove Beach Dubai is a family-friendly place, and there is a dedicated children’s pool and family area.
This is a nice touch, given that there is a sheesha bar in the place, and it might not be the sort of place that little ones should be hanging out in.
The families that we spoke to at Cove Beach all agreed that this is a good spot to get some rest and relaxation as a group and that their children seemed to love the place.
Who Is The Owner Of Cove Beach, Dubai?
Cove Beach Dubai is held by the LIVIT Hospitality Management company, which is a luxury hospitality company. That, in turn, was founded by Adel Ghazzawi, and it remains co-owned by him today.
Final Thoughts On The Review Of Cove Beach, Dubai

Cove Beach is very much an everyman kind of beach club; there’s something for almost everybody, and while it doesn’t have a firm identity like some of the emirate’s other beach clubs, it works very well.
If you’re looking to spend a nice day in the Dubai sunshine (or at least, a nice day under the shade looking at the sunshine) with food, drinks and friends or family, then Cove Beach is the spot for you.
It’s not set up for wild parties or anything like that, but that’s OK not every beach club needs to cater to alcoholic excess.
