The FIVE Palm Jumeirah is one of the most desirable resorts in one of the hottest spots in Dubai and while the hotel itself rightly attracts a lot of attention, it also has a beach club which is open to the public.
Bohemia Beach Club is said to be “where Bohemian spirit meets beachfront bliss” whatever that means. We look forward to the day that a beach club hires a marketing team that speaks in human rather than smashing buzzwords together, to be fair.
Depsite the bland blah, our team were very excited to visit Bohemia which has a great reputation for music and fun. So, they grabbed their notepads, packed them in their day bags and headed to Bohemia Beach Club in Dubai and this is what they learned there.
Introduction – Getting To Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai

Getting to Dubai is always easy. The emirate came from modest beginnings and back in the 1970s it was, essentially, a huge sand pit on the edge of the Empty Quarter.
Today, though, it’s one of the most upwardly mobile places on the planet and the airport which used to be a connection hub for flights to Europe and Asia, is now one of the busiest on the planet.
People no longer pass through Dubai on their way somewhere else, Dubai is the destination and while it’s not always cheap – there’s a flight to Dubai from almost every major city on the globe.
When you’re in Dubai, Jumeirah is the top place for tourists to stay, so even if the FIVE Plam Jumeirah is beyond your budget, you’re likely to be nearby.
If you are staying farther away from the beach club, just make sure to allow for traffic at busy times of the day, Dubai’s streets can get pretty gridlocked at rush hour.
When you arrive, because this is Dubai, a taxi can drop you off at the door, or you can drop yourself off at the door and the valet parking will make sure your car is cared for until you leave.

What’s Available At Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai?
There’s a pool area, comfortable seating, restaurant and bar facilities and at night there’s regular live DJs and entertainment.
This is very much a party oriented beach club and things can get started pretty early in the day, however, they do a good job of ensuring that the space around the daybeds remains pretty chill during the day.
Our Detailed Review Of Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai
We use a uniform approach to review each beach club, ensuring equitable evaluation for owners, management, and staff, and presenting reviews in a consistent structure that simplifies comparing different venues.
The review procedure is outlined as follows:
- A review team is selected to evaluate the venue.
- All members are required to visit the beach club, though they may do so separately and on varying days.
- At the venue, each reviewer completes a scorecard, assigning the club a score from 1 (lowest distinction) to 5 (highest distinction) across designated categories, while also noting their impressions.
- Once all scorecards are completed, the team meets to discuss their findings and agree on final category scores.
- A chosen team member then writes the review, reflecting the group’s consensus and scores, before it is posted on our website.
Reservation and Booking Process
So far, the one thing every beach club in Dubai that we’ve reviewed has failed at is implementing a half decent booking system and sadly, Bohemia isn’t even trying to break that mould.
Yes, it’s another manky Sevenrooms booking page. This one requires three button clicks from the home page to reach it, so it’s even more jarring to be dumped on another site by then.
Because this is a restaurant booking platform rather than one designed for beach clubs, you can pick a time, date and type of seating, but you can’t choose where you want to sit.
In a marginal improvement over some other uses of this booking platform in Dubai, at least, they tell you how much they want to take from you when they ask for your card details.
Really, this is bare minimum stuff and in an age of the obscene wealth in Dubai, don’t try and tell us that the beach clubs can’t do better than this.
Ambience and Atmosphere

Bohemia is big and bold and there’s a certain decadent flair to the place, that tells you that you’re in for a day of partying and sophistication.
However, it’s also quite intimidating when you walk in for the first time, there’s a sense of being surrounded by strangers rather than people who are potential future friends.
That impression wears off over time and soon you’ll find yourself relaxing and having an awesome day, but there’s no doubt that the atmosphere isn’t quite what we’d expected on first contact.
Overall, the atmosphere is good once you get used to it.
Location And Accessibility
Jumeriah is one of the most accessible parts of Dubai and there’s no doubt that if you’re staying in this area, then getting to Bohemia is very easy.
The beaches along this strip are all reclaimed land, so they’re very much similar to each other but they are all attractive and provide stunning views of Dubai’s big attractions like the Palm.
This beach club is not particularly wheelchair friendly though and the vast majority of the daybeds are out on the sand itself, so unless you have specially adapted tyres, you’re not going to be able to reach them.
Aesthetic And Design

We expected more from a place called Bohemia. The Bohemians were out there artists with a whacky crazy steak. Bohemia looks more like an Ikea catalogue than somewhere that was designed with real artistic intent.
Don’t get us wrong, it’s attractive enough and you’ll get some lovely Instagram photos at this beach club but it’s not going to blow you away, particularly if you’ve seen some other Dubai beach clubs.
Architecturally, it looks like they went to FINNS in Bali and said, “do something like that”. It’s decent but there’s no real originality to it.
Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)
One thing you can absolutely rely on in Dubai is that the staff who serve you are going to be amazing and they don’t break the mold at Bohemia.
You will find that they are friendliness and professionalism personified and that each interaction with the servers is a genuine pleasure.
They also know their menu, the local area and the music policy very well and will do all they can to answer questions and make you feel at home.
Service Speed and Efficiency
In the main, we also felt that this beach club provided speedy service that was also effective. There’s something nice about the way the staff seem to know that you’re going to order and arrive before you even need to catch their eye.
The orders are taken swiftly and with accuracy, we like it when people read our orders back to us rather than just dashing off from the table.
And then, you won’t have to wait too long for your order to materialise. Obviously, there’s a preparation phase but it’s reasonable.
However, a couple of times, members of our team were kept waiting just a bit too long, once for a beer that took nearly 20 minutes to arrive and once for a check that left the reviewer stuck in the club for half an hour longer than they’d anticipated.
Food Quality and Variety

The food at Bohemia is very good, not quite the best we’ve ever had at a beach club, but you certainly won’t be disappointed and everything we ordered was delicious.
It is on the expensive side, but not overly moreso than at other beach clubs in the area, just more so than a standard restaurant in Dubai.
The ingredients are fresh and high quality and we got the impression that the kitchen works hard on presentation too, everything we ate looked as good as it tasted.
Beverage Selection and Creativity
The drinks list is excellent, it’s long and varied and the cocktails are strong and tasty. We even appreciated the presentation which while not quite as pretty as the food, will certainly look good on your Instagram feed.
However, there’s no getting around the fact that even for Dubai, these drinks are very expensive and we can’t quite fathom why.
Nearly $20 USD for a pint of beer is incredible, and really, we feel that it ought to dance for us or sing at that price.
Cleanliness and Hygiene

The UAE has an excellent reputation for luxury and no business in this sphere has anything but the greatest attention to detail for cleanliness.
None of our review team could fault the hygiene practices at Bohemia. The pool water was beautifully clean and clear and we wanted to swim in it (the Dubai heat is incredible at times).
The toilets, changing rooms, even the daybeds themselves positively gleamed in the light and our congratulations go to the clean up crew who must work harder than most people in Dubai by a fair amount.
Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

We don’t love the overall look of the daybeds, but we can’t fault them for their comfort factor. This is a beach club where spending all day by the pool is a real pleasure.
Of course, it’s Dubai, so you need to make sure that you’ve got access to shade at all times, and a couple of our team felt that this might have been better organised.
Overall, though if you want to chill in a comfy space for a long, hot sunny day, you won’t find much better furniture to do it than that at Bohemia.
Music and Entertainment

Our team felt that when the music was good in Bohemia it was amazing, but they also felt that the music policy was a bit inconsistent and that things could meander all over the place sonically.
Overall, the nights here are usually very good but earlier in the day, they could use tightening things up a bit.
Seasonality
This is Dubai, there is only hot and sunny. In fact, it’s so hot and sunny that you need to stay out of the sun as much as you can.
Sunburn is the biggest risk to your holiday here. And make sure to keep rehydrating all day long, alcohol hits hard in Dubai.
Pricing and Value for Money
We think that Bohemia is on the expensive side for Dubai and it’s hugely expensive compared to some of the more value for money destinations out there like Bali or Phuket.
However, we didn’t feel cheated here, it’s not so expensive that it goes into rip-off territory.
Beach Access and Quality
The beach here is very attractive but it’s worth noting that it is reclaimed land and thus the sand is imported.
It’s soft under your feet though (make sure to wear something on your feet or they will get burned, sand gets super hot in Dubai) and pretty.
You could swim in the ocean too, though we wouldn’t recommend it and the pool is safer and nicer.
Sustainability Practices
With absolutely no public commitment on record towards sustainability at all, Bohemia Beach Club is not helping us out here.
While we understand that the emirate of Dubai has sustainability targets in place and that it reports on them, we expect beach clubs to play their part too in 2025.
Exclusive Perks for Guests

You get a daybed and a towel and that’s about it (as long as you booked a daybed) and that’s very standard here in Dubai.
To be fair, the minimum spend is 100% of the cost of the daybed and it’s refunded as an F&B credit so that is better value than some beach clubs.
But where’s the VIP or Premium tier of inclusions? This is Dubai, we want and we don’t mind paying for excess luxury.
Safety and Security
One of the nice things about going out in Dubai is that the emirate is one of the safest places on Earth. While you may be in the Middle East, this is not Beirut.
However, it’s down to the efforts of the ever present security teams that this is so and thus, they take security pretty seriously.
You may have your vehicle and/or bags searched as you enter the venue and they have lots of security personnel on hand to keep things safe.
Event Hosting Capabilities

As with almost every venue in Dubai, they have a private events team on hand at Bohemia to bring your ideas to life.
From intinimate weddings to massive corporate events, they’d be happy to handle your event and we feel that they’d be likely to do a good job of it, too.
Consistency of Experience
Bohemia knows what it’s about and it’s trying very much to deliver a specific experience. Our reviewes, online reviews and the other guests we spoke to on the day all felt that it does a good job of delivering on that party vibe.
However, there’s no doubt that this is a place that knows what works and doesn’t take risks trying to improve on things.
We wish they’d opt for a continuous improvement culture, they might turn this place into a contender for the world’s best if they did.
Additional Amenities and Facilities

This beach club has pretty much all the standard amenities that you can expect for a party-focused beach club in the Middle East.
If you need anything that they don’t have and their staff can’t source for you, then you should be fine, this is Dubai, it’ll be available within a short distance.
Summary
A day out at Bohemia is a good day out. Sure, there are some areas we can nitpick a little, but overall if you’re in the mood for a party in the sweltering Dubai heat, it’s a great choice.
This is Dubai, so it is an expensive day out, mind you and you should be prepared to get spendy if you want to get the most out of Bohemia. $20 beers add up fast in 40 degree sun.
The food is good though and the entertainment is likely to hit on something you like sooner or later during the course of the day.
And the view of the Palm is one of the best in the country and you can’t ask for much more than that.
FAQs
Can You Go Swimming At Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai?
Yes, there’s a decent sized swimming pool at Bohemia but we should warn you that this club can get pretty busy at times and the infinity pool is often used by people sweating in the heat as a place to cool off.
If you get there early in the day, you’ll have no problems doing a few laps or lengths, but as things head towards sunset, the pool may be too crowded for swimming.
While you can in theory swim in the ocean at Bohemia which does have private beach acccess, the reality is that nobody does and there’s no lifeguard available on the beach.
This is because the water is often poor quality due to the area being fully reclaimed land and because there is an outside risk of riptides.
What Is There To Do At Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai?
You can eat, drink, swim and lounge around during the day at Bohemia. The place has a very upbeat vibe and you will find this is not the best place for reading a book and even conversation can be difficult depending on the music playing at the time.
As the sun goes down, this place goes into full party mode (if it hasn’t got there already) and drinking and dancing become the two main pastimes for people in Bohemia.
Is Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai, A Child-Friendly Venue?
No, while the resort itself welcomes children, the Bohemia Beach Club is not a child-friendly environment.
The emphasis is very much on partying and drinking and that makes this an unsuitable place for youngsters even early in the day.
The good news is that Dubai is full of family-friendly beach clubs, so you won’t struggle to find somewhere else where your kids will have an awesome time, instead.
Who Is The Owner Of Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai?
Bohemia is part of the FIVE Palm Jumeirah which is owned by FIVE Holdings. This is a real estate company that specialises in luxury hospitality, it was founded by Kabir Mulchandani. The company owns properties all over the world.
Final Thoughts On The Review Of Bohemia Beach Club, Dubai

Bohemia is an impressive party destination beach club. It’s an expensive day out and not the sort of place most people would be able to enjoy regular trips to.
However, if you want to dance the night away in Dubai, you’re going to have to spend a fair amount of money and if you’re going to do that, you might well want to check out Bohemia.
This beach club on the edge of the Palm Jumeriah has what it takes to keep you moving all night long.
