Bali is the Island of the Gods. A paradise of pristine beaches, lush jungles, sculptured rice paddies, ancient temples, and a warm, welcoming culture known throughout the world for its hospitality.

It’s also home to what is probably the best beach club scene on Earth at the moment and the island is home to over 100 beach clubs!

Our top 20 beach clubs in Bali represent the absolute best that the beach clubs of Bali have to offer and there’s something for everyone from the best partying destination on the planet to family fun days out.

Our Top 20 Beach Clubs In Bali (From 1st To 20th)

This list is based on the review scores in our published review of each beach club in Bali. Our reviewers have all visited the beach clubs at least once and worked together as a team to provide a fair and accurate review of the current state of play at that beach club.

We do update our reviews on a regular basis to try and ensure that they remain as informative as possible.

Note: Nyepi is the Balinese day of silence. It is celebrated in March or April of every year and lasts for a single day. On that day, every business in the country is required to shut down by law including the airport and visitors to the island are meant to stay in their hotels and undertake quiet activities for 24 hours. It is the only mandatory holiday on the island and many people say they appreciate the change of pace that Nyepi brings. As you might expect, beach clubs in Bali are closed for Nyepi too.

1 – FINNS Beach Club (Score: 100/100)

We believe that FINNS is, as they say it is, the world’s best beach club. If you want to hear a heated debate in our offices, it’s when we talk about this beach club’s perfect review score.

Is FINNS perfect? Nothing’s perfect but this beach club gets exactly the right balance of luxury, entertainment, great food and drink and fun.

It’s impossible to go to FINNS and have a bad time. Whether you’re lounging in their oceanfront infinity pool, knocking back shots at the bars, dancing under the stars or chilling on a daybed, FINNS is always awesome.

The club works very hard to constantly reinvent itself too. They don’t sit around lapping up the plaudits, they’re out making the experience of coming to FINNS better and better.

And that means if you go away for a year and come back, FINNS is still here, but it’s even more awesome than you remember it being.

But please do remember that it’s an adults-only party and children aren’t allowed into FINNS and that you can’t go to FINNS if you have face tattoos.

2 – Reef Beach Club (Score: 81/100)

The Kempinski is synonymous with luxury and there’s no doubt that the Kempinski in Nusa Dua is one of the hotel chain’s most prestigious and over the top resorts.

For many people the aquarium restaurant here is the main aim of the drinking and dining options inside but we think Reef Beach Club deserves more love than it gets.

With no entrance fee and no minimum spend, there aren’t many ultra-luxury beach clubs around the world that can compete and it’s a very family-friendly place too.

So, if you want to grab some snaps of yourself in a beach club that regularly caters to some of the biggest name stars in the world, you might fancy spending some time at Reef.

3 – Sundara Beach Club (Score: 79/100)

The Four Seasons is not far behind the Kempinski when it comes to luxurious hotels and there’s no doubt that both of their properties in Bali are lovely.

However, it’s the one in Jimbaran which is home to Sundara Beach Club and thus, the one that is featured in our best beach clubs in Bali list.

Be warned, this is not going to be a cheap day out, but if you want to be waited on hand and foot as you chill by the pool sipping classic cocktails with first rate ingredients, this is a great beach club for you.

It’s definitely not the sort of place to rock up at with a big group of mates and spend the whole day engaged in heavy drinking, but if you want an elegant affair and don’t mind splashing some cash on it, you’ll have a great time.

4 – Pool Bar At The Legian (Score: 78/100)

You have to be a paying guest at The Legian hotel (which confusingly is not in Legian but rather two towns over in Seminyak) if you want to use the Pool Bar.

Given that a cheap room in this hotel is around $600 USD a night, that makes the Pool Bar – technically – the most expensive beach club in Bali.

But, if you are staying in the hotel, there’s no charge to use the beach club, so maybe it’s the cheapest?

Either way, it’s gorgeous and their beachfront infinity pool is absolutely stunning. This is a place for quiet afternoons with your family where you revel in the drinks and dining and once again, are prepared to pay a little more than you might elsewhere for the privilege.

4 – Potato Head Beach Club (Score: 78/100)

Potato Head in Seminyak is one of the biggest names in Bali’s beach club scene, second only to FINNS, in fact.

It has a reputation for laid-back charm and it’s one of the few beach clubs in Bali with absolutely no dress code at all, anything goes, in fact.

The vibe here is very much relaxing and chilling and you certainly won’t be partying until dawn at Potato Head but if you fancy spending the day with your significant other in the sun or reading a book on a daybed, you will have a good time here.

Our only reservation with Potato Head is that they’ve started to offer some confusing packages for booking daybeds rather than relying on the preferred minimum spend system of most beach clubs in Bali.

6 – Byrd House Beach Club (Score: 77/100)

This Sanur based beach club is all about families and it probably has the best facilities of any beach club in Bali if you want an active day by the sea.

Think playing tennis, watersports and general physical fun. You won’t be joining in any parties at this location, but that’s precisely not what they had in mind when they built it.

If you’ve got little ones, Sanur is also the best place for them to learn to swim on the island thanks to a reef shielding the beach and keeping currents very gentle, indeed.

Sanur has something of a sleepy reputation, but Byrd House isn’t sleepy, it’s a wonderful place for a bit of parent-child bonding.

Ku De Ta is Bali’s oldest beach club and this year, 2025, it will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on the island. The club is even having a one-off party where all guests must dress all in white to celebrate.

Mostly though, Ku De Ta is still pretty good at what it does. It’s somewhere between a relaxing, family day out and a more party-oriented beach club and a lot depends on where you sit and what time of day it is.

There’s a lot of competition in the Seminyak Beach Club market in Bali but Ku De Ta still does an excellent job of holding its own.

The COMO Bali is on Echo Beach in Canggu and while this 5-star resort is one of the older properties on the island, the beach club proves there’s life in the old dog, yet.

In fact, they even have one day a month where dogs are welcome for a pet-friendly brunch! And families are welcome every single day, to the point where kids playing by the pool feels like a permanent feature at COMO.

Just make sure to agree to the minimum spend for a seat by the pool as you’re not allowed to swim if you sit in the restaurant area.

Otherwise, this relatively new addition to Bali’s beach club scene is ideal for a pleasant day with friends and family by the sea.

The evening fire dance show is excellent and makes a pleasant change from the norm. If you can’t make it to Uluwatu for the real thing, this is better than nothing.

The Sofitel name is another one that is implicitly associated with high quality experiences and Manarai Beach House won’t let you down on that front.

This is a small club which is very much aimed at family days out and relaxed afternoon with friends rather than big nights with the boys but if you’re in the mood to chill, this spot in Nusa Dua is great.

Our team’s only hesitation with this beach club is that it’s a bit expensive for what it is.

Cafe Del Mar is one of the world’s biggest names in beach clubs and the Ibizan original Cafe Del Mar is a real legend of the scene along with its record label.

The Balinese version doesn’t quite live up to that big reputation, not least because it’s a remote franchise which doesn’t seem to be subject to the same stringency of brand adherence as some of their other franchises.

However, if you want to kick back by the pool and don’t mind that there’s no access to the beach, Cafe Del Mar in Bali is a decent place to do it.

However, it’s still a pretty good pool club and the lack of beach access makes it one of the more budget-friendly (for Bali – all these clubs are budget friendly compared to the world beach club market as a whole) offerings on our list.

It’s a great place for pub grub, sports on the telly and kids running about and splashing in the pool.

FAQs

Is It Worth Going To A Beach Club In Bali?

Yes! In fact, we think that – as we go to press – Bali has the best beach club scene on Earth. Not only are there over 100 beach clubs to choose from on the island, it’s also home to the world’s best beach club – FINNS Beach Club.

The scene in Bali is much better value for money than in some of the big name destinations elsewhere in the world. In fact, you could probably spend a week in the beach clubs of Bali for the price of a weekend in the clubs of Mykonos, Miami, Tulum, Ibiza, Hvar, etc.

We would recommend heading to the south side of Bali to experience the incredible Balinese sunset while enjoying delicious cocktails in the infinity pool of your choice.

Is FINNS Beach Club Worth It?

FINNS Beach Club is our pick for the world’s best beach club. We think it represent exceptional value for money and it offers excellent food and drinks combined with truly incredible entertainment to create the best beach party experience on Earth every day.

Even in the low season when other beach clubs in Bali are struggling, there’s always a crowd at FINNS having a great time of things.

The only times that you’re not going to find it right for you are if you have children with you (FINNS is an adults-only beach club and only those aged 16 or over are allowed in) or if you have facial tattoos as the club has a strict ban on guests with such tattoos.

Otherwise, if you’ve been to Bali and haven’t been to FINNS? Can you really say you’ve been to Bali at all?

Which Is The World’s Largest Beach Club In Bali?

The world’s largest beach club is now Sirene by GAIA in Dubai. Atlas Beach Club in Canggu did hold the claim to the world’s largest beach club befor Sirene opened.

It’s still pretty big, but as we say in our review, when Atlas isn’t busy, it can feel like the world’s emptiest beach club for all that space.

We’d also note that FINNS Beach Club is the Bali beach club with the world’s largest reputation at the moment.

What’s The Dress Code For Bali Beach Clubs?

Every beach club in Bali has its own dress code and there is no uniform requirement. Some, have minor rules such as no face tattoos, no alcohol or sports team branded merch, etc.

Some have stricter rules particulary after dark and require smart casual clothing and shoes.

And some beach clubs have no rules at all, just rock up and as long as your unmentionables are covered, you’ll be fine.

It’s always a good idea to phone a beach club in Bali and ask what the dress code is before you go. That way you can make sure you’re following the rules and you get let in.

Can I Just Walk Into FINNS Beach Club?

Yes, providing that there is room inside and it’s safe to let you in, you can always walk in to FINNS (except for Nyepi).

However, you are not guaranteed to be able to find a seat or to be able to use a daybed unless you reserve a spot in advance.

At the busiest times of year, FINNS can be booked out weeks or months in advance and you should reserve if you want the comfiest seats.

There is no minimum spend requirement for walk in guests who opt to sit in the bar and restaurant areas of FINNS and there is no entrance fee, either.

Final Thoughts On The Best Beach Clubs In Bali

Bali is the world leader in the beach club scene at the moment with over 100 beach clubs on the island to choose from, a beach club devotee never needs to be bored.

Our Top 20 beach clubs in Bali represents the best that the Bali scene has to offer and we’ve visited every club on the list on multiple occasions to ensure that our reviews are as accurate as possible.

We hope that you enjoy the Island of the Gods as much as we do and that we bump into you partying at FINNS one day!
