Pacha is one of the biggest names in the Ibizan beach club scene, and their club in Five Luxe at the Jumeriah Beach Residence is their first offering in the UAE, but can it match up to their huge reputation?
Well, if there’s one thing that our beach club review team loves more than anything else, it’s a challenge, and they were super keen to give Playa Pacha Dubai a go and find out for themselves.
So, when we asked, they didn’t delay in stuffing their sunscreen, sunglasses, review books and credit cards into a bag and heading off to determine the good, the bad and the ugly about Playa Pacha Dubai, and this is what they learned.
Introduction – Getting To Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR

Getting to Dubai was once a fairly troublesome affair, but in 2025, it’s one of the easiest places on Earth to get to. The city-state has used its small oil wealth boom wisely.
The oil is gone now, but a huge airport sits firmly among one of the most modern and vibrant cities on the planet and where people once passed through on their way to somewhere else, now? People stay in Dubai. It’s the reason that they travel.
Because the emirate is newly developed, it has invested a lot into tourism, and there are amazing hotels everywhere for you to choose from.
However, the bulk of those hotels are in Jumeirah, and that means if you are staying where the other tourists stay, once you arrive in Dubai, you’re going to be only a short drive from Playa Pacha.
You can get a taxi easily, which will drop you off at the door or you can drive yourself; there’s valet parking as you’d expect. We will note that if you’re going to drink, it’s best not to drive, the Emirati authorities take a very dim view of driving under the influence.

In the later part of the day, this club steps up the entertainment game and there are DJs, entertainers, etc. to enjoy.
Our Detailed Review Of Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR
We maintain a uniform approach to evaluate every beach club, ensuring equitable assessment for owners, management, and staff, and delivering reviews in a consistent format that facilitates straightforward venue comparisons.
The evaluation process is conducted as follows:
- A team is chosen to assess the venue.
- Each member must visit the beach club, with the freedom to visit independently and on separate days.
- During their visit, every reviewer completes a scorecard, assigning the club a score from 1 (least notable) to 5 (most notable) in specified categories, while also documenting their impressions.
- After all team members have completed their visits and scorecards, they gather to discuss their experiences and agree on final scores for each category.
- A selected team member then writes the review, reflecting the team’s discussions and final scores, before it is published on our website.
Reservation and Booking Process
We feel like parrots when we hit this section, but this is yet another multi-million dollar beach club operation relying on Sevenrooms to provide its booking service.
It makes no sense to us at all. You can’t pick your seat with Sevenrooms; it’s a broken experience compared to using the beach club’s website to book, and even taking deposits isn’t handled well.
We know that it’s a big brand owned by DoorDash, but it’s a restaurant booking service, not a beach club one, and it shows.
We feel that beach club customers deserve a better experience than the one they get with this service as it stands.
Ambience and Atmosphere

There’s no doubt that they’ve got the ambience and atmosphere just right in Pacha. When you rock up early in the day, it’s calm and welcoming.
And as the day draws on, it becomes more energetic and exciting, with the move towards sunset gaining even more tempo, and then, it’s party time most days.
This is, for us, the essence of beach club life, the “club” part matters; if it’s all chilled out, all the time, it’s not a clubbing environment.
Of course, Pacha is one of the world’s top club brands, born on one of the world’s most famous clubbing islands; we’d have been disappointed if it had been anything else.
Location And Accessibility
Five at the JBR is one of the best locations in Dubai. There’s no doubt that this area has some of the coolest attractions in the emirate, and Jumeirah is where most tourists will stay when they visit Dubai.
However, if you are a long way from Playa Pacha, you’re going to find that the rush hour traffic makes it hard work to get to this club on a sensible time scale.
We’d also note that the majority of this beach club is wheelchair accessible, though we’d always advise talking to the staff in advance if you have any specific needs, to ensure that they will be met.
Aesthetic And Design

Pacha has its own eye-catching aesthetic (bright red cherries on white), and there’s no doubt that it gives this beach club a sense of visual identity that many of the hotel beach clubs in Dubai lack.
We like the playful feel of this design, and we think it adds something to the sense of occasion. And it certainly looks great in your Instagram feed.
There’s still a touch of the corporate about it, but it’s far more muted than at many of the other top spots in the Emirates. We felt that this beach club was very easy on the eye.
Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)
It’s extremely rare to find anything but incredible levels of professionalism and friendliness in the wait staff in Dubai; that’s because the emirate allows employers to bring staff from all over the world.
That means, they get the best of the best, and then they use world-class training teams to really hone their skills.
Playa Pacha Dubai certainly doesn’t disappoint in this fashion, the staff here are excellent and thoroughly knowledgeable about the club, the menu and Dubai in general.
Service Speed and Efficiency
The service at Playa Pacha is a fast and efficient as it is friendly and professional. Even when it’s super busy, the staff are attentive and quick to respond to your needs.
Food and drinks arrive from the bar/kitchen with alacrity, and even at the end of the day, when you want your check, you won’t be left hanging for it.
Food Quality and Variety

This is Dubai, and the food isn’t the cheapest, but we think the menu at Playa Pacha is one of the best we’ve seen. It’s curated into many small and thus highly manageable sections (rather like at FINNS Beach Club in Bali, in fact).
The choices are varied, and the dishes are absolutely delicious. The Cecina and Stracciatella Pinza was one of our favourite meals in our whole Dubai experience, and there’s no doubt that you can find some incredible places to eat in the Emirate.
Beverage Selection and Creativity
The drinks menu is excellent and there’s a great range of cocktails, all of which are lovingly presented to look amazing in your inevitable snaps for your Instagram feed.
Our only complaint was that they were a little short on beer variety, but we think that might be churlish with so many other options on the menu.
Overall, drinkers are going to be very happy at Playa Pacah Dubai and much poorer by the time they leave.
Cleanliness and Hygiene
This is Dubai, and there’s a real emphasis on getting the basics perfect, and we found Playa Pacha to maintain the same high standards that we encountered at almost all of the Emirate’s beach clubs.
The pool water is clean, the changing facilities are positively gleaming, and the toilets are amazing. You simply can’t fault this beach club in this area.
Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

There’s no doubt that the seats here are very nearly as comfortable as they look, and while we didn’t think they were the pinnacle of beach club seating, we did think they were more than enough for a lovely day of lounging by the pool.
Daybeds are a very important part of beach club life, and it’s nice when beach clubs go all out to try and ensure that you can really chill out.
Music and Entertainment

The roster of DJs at Pacha is absolutely amazing, and you’re bound to find an event here that you want to attend.
Even on regular days, they pay very close attention to the tunes and ensure that they support the exact mood that they are trying to create.
Seasonality
There is no real seasonality in Dubai; it’s hot and sunny all year round. However, it can be a bit too hot and sunny at times, and you will want to spend a lot of time in the shade here and paying close attention to regular rehydration too.
Pricing and Value for Money
We thought Playa Pacha Dubai’s pricing was slightly on the high side for Dubai, but to be fair, we felt that they provided an elevated experience above most other beach clubs in return.
Our mark in this category is based on value for money when compared to all beach clubs, and while it’s good value for Dubai, a day here is two or three times more expensive than a day in Bali’s beach clubs, and it’s not two or three times better.
Beach Access and Quality

The beach at Playa Pacha is on reclaimed land and thus, it’s very attractive and always kept spotlessly clean by the staff at this beach club and other places that abut the beach.
While the sand is soft underfoot, we must stress that in Dubai, you cannot go barefoot on the beach, the sun is simply too hot, and the little pieces of rock will burn the soles of your feet.
Sustainability Practices
Sadly, Playa Pacha Dubai has no public commitment to sustainability and no sustainability reporting, targets or goals.
We imagine they do something behind the scenes, even if it’s the bare minimum required under Emirati law, but we expect more in 2025 than this.
Exclusive Perks for Guests

The perks at this beach club are the usual things, though they do include free water and sunscreen, which is a nice touch.
We’d really like to see more premium packages available, though (for an additional fee), there are lots of amenities and things we’d be happy to pay for in a bundle-style deal while we were on holiday.
It’s a good opportunity to increase club margins too, while adding more value for their customers.
Safety and Security
Dubai has one of the best reputations for security and safety on the planet, and the emirate takes a very dim view of alcohol related violence, too.
That means cars and people are subject to spot searches when entering premises, and in addition, you can expect to see plenty of security staff during the course of your evening here.
The good news is that there’s rarely any trouble, and if it does break out, it’s always swiftly handled so that it doesn’t have any impact on other guests.
Event Hosting Capabilities

They don’t really push private event hosting, and they can only host events for up to 200 people according to their literature, but the service is available if you want it.
We suspect that they’ll have an excellent events team on hand at Playa Pach, and if you are looking for something in a party vein with your own DJs, we’d think you’d have a blast at this beach club.
Consistency of Experience

We felt, as did the customers we spoke to and the online reviews that we read, that Playa Pacha was an extremely consistent experience. It’s won awards in Dubai this year, and we think that they are well deserved.
However, the naturally conservative nature of Dubai rarely sees clubs really trying to push out of their comfort zone to try and constantly take things to the next level, and that’s a bit of a shame here, because we suspect that there’s still a huge amount of “wow” factor that they could add to this place.
Additional Amenities and Facilities
All the basic amenities and facilities we can think you’d need are available at Playa Pacha Dubai, and if you ned anything they don’t have, the staff may be able to source it for you.
If not, you can be certain that it won’t be far away. Dubai has pretty much everything a human being could need or desire, as long as they have the money to pay for it.
Summary
Playa Pacha Dubai is a very good experience, and while it’s not quite on the same level as Ibiza, it really couldn’t be, as it’s in Dubai and the emirate’s openness has some very hard limits.
If you want a beach club that offers both relaxation and some great parties, then you can’t go wrong with Playa Pacha, and we admire the fact that they offer some mid-week promos, so that you can enjoy a value day out here, as it is quite expensive.
And that’s the real drawback of this beach club, the overall cost of a good day out is pretty hefty, it’s not out of line with Dubai as a whole, but this is a comparison of beach clubs around the world, and you can enjoy a lot more good time for the cost of a day here in somewhere like Bali.
FAQs
Can You Go Swimming At Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR?
Yes, there is one large pool at Playa Pacha Dubai, and you can easily swim in it. This is especially true during the early part of the day when fewer people are using the pool – it’s super easy to do some lengths and laps around the pool.
However, even though this is a large pool, as the day goes on, Playa Pacha tends to fill up, and the pool is used by most guests as a place to cool off in the sweltering heat of the desert days, which means it can become a bit crowded for swimming.
So, we would strongly recommend that you arrive at Playa Pacha early in the day if you really want to swim.
It’s worth noting that most hotels and apartment buildings in Dubai have their own pools, so if you want to be absolutely sure of a swim, it’s probably best to do it at home rather than in a beach club.
Then, you can use the pool for chilling out with a cocktail, which is a nice touch.
There are also three smaller pools a this beach club, which aren’t as good for swimming.
What Is There To Do At Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR?
You can swim, drink, dance, eat, and take walks along the beach in the sand. (Though please make sure you wear good footwear if you go for a walk, the sun heats the sand up to very high temperatures, and you are risking burning yourself badly if you opt for bare feet).
We would note that this is very much a beach club that people go to in order to “see and be seen”, so while you’re not required to dress up to visit Playa Pacha, we would recommend that you do if you want to feel completely comfortable there.
Is Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR A Child-Friendly Venue?
Yes, though it’s worth noting that children are not given free run of this venue. They are welcome to attend with their parents as long as they are in the family pool area.
The rest of this beach club is very much targeted towards the over-21s market and there’s no doubt that parents will want to keep their kids away from the wild parties at this place.
You will also need to ensure that your children behave safely (there is a lifeguard on duty, but don’t take it for granted that they will notice any issues immediately) and that they don’t annoy any of the other guests at Playa Pacha Dubai.
Who Is The Owner Of Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR?
Playa Pacha Dubai is part of FIVE Holdings, which in turn is the parent company of Pacha Group that was wholly acquired by FIVE. FIVE was founded by Kabir Mulchandani, and he is the current chairman of the group. Aloki Batra is the CEO of both FIVE and Pacha Group.
Final Thoughts On The Review Of Playa Pacha Dubai @ Five Luxe JBR

Playa Pacha has been winning all the plaudits in Dubai this year, and we can see why. This is a beach club with a keen eye for detail and where the experience clearly matters.
It’s not as wild as its Ibizan counterpart for many fairly obvious reasons when you consider the ultra-conservative nature of the emirate, but it is gorgeous and the party vibe is great.
Our biggest complaint with Playa Pacha is our biggest complaint with Dubai as a whole: it’s expensive.
If you’re in the emirate and you have the cash, it’s a good place to go, but if you’re going on holiday for an amazing beach club trip? You can get much more bang for your buck in places like Thailand and Bali.
