There’s a new beach club on the island of Bali, and despite the endless claims that it’s Luna Beach Club, it’s not, it’s Beach House at Regent Bali.

Regent Bali is an upscale resort perched on the seafront in the resort town of Canggu, Bali, and our team spends a lot of time in that area, so they were only too happy to be asked to go out and review this beach club.

They leapt into their cars, grabbed their notebooks, and this is what they learned when they visited Beach House at Regent Bali.

Introduction – Getting To Beach House At Regent Bali

Bali is in the Indian Ocean. It’s part of the Indonesian Republic and the Indonesian archipelago in Southeast Asia.

It’s only a short flight from Australia or other Southeast Asian countries, but it’s a fairly long journey from America or Europe, though it’s worth noting that the low prices in Bali often mean it’s easy to offset the costs of a long-haul flight in the savings you make elsewhere on the island.

Canggu is Bali’s most popular beach town, and it’s very easy to get to. You’ll be about a 30-60 minute drive from most locations once you’re in Bali, assuming the traffic isn’t too heavy.

Once you’re in Canggu, this beach club is on the corner of Echo Beach, not far from COMO Beach Club, so you might consider visiting both places if you want to get the most out of your day.

The beach club is completely accessible by car or scooter (parking onsite is available for free), and Grab or Gojek (the island’s main ride-sharing services) can drop you off at the door, though you will need to pass through a minor security check to do so.

Where Is Beach House At Regent Bali? Regent, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali

Online: N/A

Opening Hours: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, except Nyepi (Nyepi is the Balinese day of silence and the entire island, including the airport, is closed for that one day of the year).

What’s Available At Beach House At Regent Bali?

This is a hotel beach club, so the facilities are a little more limited than at the big commercial beach clubs in Bali. However, there is a very pleasant oceanfront infinity pool, comfortable seating in various locations around the venue, plus restaurant and bar facilities.

This is categorically not a party destination, and you will not find any entertainment or live music of any kind at this beach club.

Our Detailed Review Of Beach House At Regent Bali

We use a standardised approach to review every beach club, ensuring fair and equitable consideration for owners, management, and staff, while providing a consistent review format that allows for clear comparisons between venues.

The review process is structured as follows:

  • A team is chosen to evaluate the venue.
  • Each member must visit the beach club independently, with no requirement to visit on the same day.
  • During their visit, every reviewer completes a scorecard, rating the club from 1 (least favourable) to 5 (most favourable) in designated categories and records their observations.
  • After all team members have submitted their scorecards, they gather to discuss their experiences and finalise scores for each category.
  • A selected team member then drafts a review that reflects the group’s discussion and agreed-upon scores, which is later published on our website.

Reservation and Booking Process

OK, so this is one of the most expensive beach clubs in Bali, and it’s based in one of the most exclusive and, yes, pricey, resorts in Canggu.

So, why, in 2025, are they unable to build a half-decent booking system for this beach club and incorporate it into their website? This is neither difficult to do nor particularly expensive.

Instead, you need to visit a Tablecheck.com link and then use the booking engine there. We don’t like that very much, particularly when the site is so limited.

You can tell it how many people are coming and when. After that, you’re offered some seating, but it’s not mandatory to take it; you can change your mind at the beach club on the day.

Once you select the seating, you will be asked to pay a deposit of the minimum spend you’re agreeing to for that seat. Given this can be as much as $200 USD, we feel this booking system should be much better than it is.

Rating:

Ambience and Atmosphere

We can’t deny, however, that this place feels significantly upmarket. In fact, we’d go as far as to say that it feels more upmarket than some of the bigger-name hotel clubs in Bali, like the Woobar.

All the small touches are there to make you feel like you’re a VIP and that this is your moment in the spotlight, and that’s exactly what we want from a place like this.

We may moan about the prices here, and will in fact later, but there’s no doubt that they offer a reflection of big spenders in the vibe.

Rating:

Location And Accessibility

You can’t go wrong with Canggu in 2025. It’s the place to be in Bali, right now. Sure, it’s a little busy and the rice fields are slowly fading away, but you can still catch glimpses of the real Bali just beneath the surface.

There are warungs, restaurants, boutique stores, bars, etc., galore, and they’re always full of people having a great time on their holidays.

Echo Beach is very easy to get to, and the private entrance to this beach club is also easy to find.

The club is also very well positioned for an epic sunset view, which we feel is one of the big draws of Bali.

Rating:

Aesthetic And Design

The aesthetic of this beach club is very attractive, and you’re bound to get some lovely snaps for your Instagram feed as you explore the place.

However, it’s also a bit “identikit Balinese hotel beach club and pool area”, and while it’s pretty, there are a lot of other high-end spaces in Bali that look very much the same.

That’s not to detract from the view, etc., but if you travel around the island, then you may find yourself feeling a bit jaded by this look after a few more beach clubs.

Rating:

Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)

We thought the staff were very friendly and professional at this beach club, and to be fair, that’s what we expected.

Bali is famous for its hospitality, even the humblest warung has people who will greet you warmly, hurry to ensure you’re seated comfortably and then take your order in your preferred language.

But there’s no doubt that the 5-star hotel environment puts a bit of polish on top of that Balinese spirit to make you feel highly valued.

The staff at Beach House at Regent Bali do genuine credit to their employer as they make everyone feel like a VIP.

Score: 5/5

Service Speed and Efficiency

However, there were a few times in this venue when we felt like we’d waited an age from the moment of ordering something to the moment that it materialised.

This may be something to do with the hyper-laid-back vibe of the place, but there’s nothing worse than paying a premium for something and then having to wait an age for it.

It wasn’t bad enough to complain about or to make us want to leave, but it niggled all the same, and that’s not ideal.

Rating:

Food Quality and Variety

The menu is very good, though perhaps a little too tightly focused for a beach club. We like a lot of choices when we’re spending a day lounging by the pool.

It puts us in the mood for a little gluttony, and we’re always happy to enjoy ourselves when we’re out.

We’d also note that the food is delicious at this beach club, and we’d certainly recommend almost any dish on the menu.

So, why the low score? The prices. They’re bordering on daylight robbery to be fair. We expect to pay a premium at a beach club, particularly at a 5-star hotel beach club, but this is more than a premium; it’s scandalous.

No, it didn’t ruin our day, but we know that it could ruin some people’s budgets just to order a snack here.

Rating:

Beverage Selection and Creativity

The same, broadly speaking, is true for the drinks too. There’s a well-curated selection of wines, cocktails, spirits, etc.

When you order a cocktail, it’s beautifully mixed, and the presentation demands that you take a picture of it to share with the world before you drink it.

But again, the prices are staggeringly high. One thing you can be certain of at this beach club is that you are not going to struggle to meet your agreed minimum spend.

Rating:

Cleanliness and Hygiene

This is a 5-star hotel property and one of the best hotels in this area. As you would expect from such an establishment, the entire business is always clean and well-maintained.

The toilets, swimming pool and changing rooms are all beautifully kept, and the restaurant areas are also gleaming.

There’s nothing here that gives us any reservations about the standards of hygiene at all.

Score: 5/5

Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

We found the daybeds to be very comfortable and the cabana areas were jolly nice too. However, we did find some of the other furniture wasn’t quite ideal for lounging around on all day long.

The tables are also peculiarly low and weren’t always the easiest to reach when slouching on a well-cushioned daybed.

However, there’s no doubt that the design of the furniture is very aesthetically pleasing.

Rating:

Music and Entertainment

It’s a hotel beach club with no pretensions towards being a party place and that means piped, bland and inoffensive music that you won’t remember 10 minutes after you leave.

That’s OK, it serves as a backdrop for conversation, but it won’t keep you coming back for more. The Beach House has other charms.

Rating:

Seasonality

This is Bali, and with the singular exception of Nyepi (the Balinese day of silence when the whole island closes down for a day), there are no days when businesses are required to close and mostly, they don’t.

The island’s tropical climate also means it’s warm and sunny nearly all year round, including in the “rainy season” when the island gets on average 8 hours of sunshine a day!

So, there simply is no seasonality to contend with. You can rock up and enjoy Bali’s beach clubs all year round.

Rating:

Pricing and Value for Money

We can’t pretend that the pricing at this beach club is reasonable. Yes, it’s an upscale and very pleasant environment, and yes, the food and drink are very good.

But it’s still overpriced, and while not a “rip-off” per se as the charges are all made clear before you buy anything, it stings all the same.

Rating:

Beach Access and Quality

This is a nice beach and the black sand looks amazing at sunset when the light show in the sky reflects in the pools of water trapped in the sand.

However, it’s not great for swimming, and while some surfers may appreciate Echo Beach, the break is powerful and really for intermediate and advanced surfers only.

It’s also not the Echo Beach in the famous song by Martha and the Muffins (in fact, according to the songwriter, none of the world’s Echo Beaches are the one in the song).

Rating:

Sustainability Practices

Neither the IHG group, nor the resort, nor the beach club have a sustainability report available to view.

Nor do they have any kind of commitment to sustainability on their site, in the beach club or in any of their corporate communications.

So, this is an area that could be improved on.

Rating:

Exclusive Perks for Guests

You get a towel and the use of a sunbed for the minimum spend, which is very much the standard at beach clubs in Bali.

However, there’s no additional tier of VIP service available for a fee, and we feel that more beach clubs should do this and enable us to spoil ourselves.

Rating:

Safety and Security

The beach club has a security check when entering the car parking area and at the main door of the hotel.

We appreciate this as it helps to ensure that the environment is safe and welcoming to all guests and reduces the odds of any major incident taking place.

We strongly feel that beach clubs everywhere should work to ensure that the people inside are safe. There are also enough security personnel present to deal with any trouble if it arises inside the venue at this club.

Rating:

Event Hosting Capabilities

They do appear to be able to host events at this beach club but it’s not a service they seem to be too intent on promoting.

Our guess is that they don’t want to interfere with the access to the beach club that they provide to their resort guests.

After all, if you pay the substantial room rates here, you’re not going to be best impressed to find your benefits have been subcontracted to somebody else for the day.

Rating:

Consistency of Experience

We have been to this club a few times now as a team and have spoken to many others who’ve visited.

We’d say that they are a very consistent, 5-star hotel experience, but there’s little sign of this beach club trying to reinvent itself to improve on that.

Rating:

Additional Amenities and Facilities

This beach club has all the basic amenities that we’d expect, but there’s nothing over and above the standard.

However, you’re in Canggu and thus, within walking distance of pretty much anything else that you could need.

Rating:

Summary

This is an excellent hotel beach club and one that is a huge benefit to resort guests. However, the exceedingly high prices make it hard to recommend as a drop-in spot.

There are a lot of amazing beach clubs in Bali, and most of them are simply a lot less expensive.

Yes, we had a good time at Beach House at Regent Bali, but no, we wouldn’t rush back.

FAQs

Can You Go Swimming At Beach House At Regent Bali?

Yes, you can swim at Beach House at Regent Bali. The infinity pool is open to all guests of the resort and the Beach House. It’s a fairly large pool for a hotel facility and can easily accommodate all the guests in the beach club at once if needed.

It is generally clean and well-maintained, and you certainly wouldn’t have any reservations about swimming in this pool with friends and family.

You could also, in theory, choose to swim in the ocean at Echo Beach; however, we don’t recommend this at all. In common with all beaches in Bali, there are no lifeguard facilities at all on this beach.

The currents in this area can be haphazard, to say the least, and have been known to drag even the strongest swimmers out to sea. It’s not worth drowning to swim here, particularly given the lovely pool in the beach club.

You’re paying a fortune to use this facility, for Bali, so why not get your money’s worth?

What Is There To Do At Beach House At Regent Bali?

This is a typical beach club for a 5-star hotel property, though it’s probably the best of its kind in Bali. That means you can swim, chill out, eat and drink at this beach club.

Their daybeds are very comfortable, and you will enjoy spending time here in the company of friends and/or family.

However, this is not a party venue. There’s no dancing, no singing and no entertainment, and that might make it less than ideal for those looking for more of an upbeat time in Bali.

Is Beach House At Regent Bali A Child-Friendly Venue?

Yes, as you’d expect in a 5-star hotel beach club, the facility is, indeed, child-friendly. In fact, the entire resort is child-friendly and there’s a kids’ play zone and several pools that your children can avail themselves of.

However, it’s worth noting that these facilities are usually only available for the use of children who are staying in the hotel and that the beach club itself doesn’t have any special facilities for kids.

If you do want to take your children to this beach club, you will be expected to keep an eye on them for their health and safety and to ensure that they don’t annoy any other hotel guests while they’re there. This is very standard in Bali’s beach clubs.

It’s also important that if your kids go down to the beach that you always have them in sight. The ocean here is no joking matter, and it’s super easy to get into trouble in the water.

Who Is The Owner Of Beach House At Regent Bali?

This beach club is part of the Regent Bali Canggu Hotel and which is owned by the IGH Hotels Group. This is one of the most sizeable accommodation providers and hotel investment chains in Bali.

Final Thoughts On The Review Of Beach House At Regent Bali

Beach House is a super hotel beach club, and if you’re going to spend some time at this resort, you definitely shouldn’t miss out on it.

However, it’s a bit less appealing to walk-in visitors who are not resort guests. It’s very expensive (particularly for Canggu, where you can visit the world’s best beach club, FINNS, and spend much less for the equivalent value).

We’d also note that COMO Beach Club is just around the corner, and COMO is also a 5-star hotel with a nice beach club facility, and that too is much cheaper than Beach House.

And that makes it hard to recommend Beach House to most visitors to Bali. Sure, it’s lovely and we had a really nice time in this beach club, but if we were paying, would we go back? Not any time soon.
