Nikki Beach Dubai Review: A Big Brand, But Does It Live Up To The Hype?

Nikki Beach in Miami is probably the first ever modern beach club, and the Nikki Beach brand has expanded dramatically since that club opened.

You can now find their beach clubs almost anywhere there’s a beach, but has the brand kept its exclusivity, chic appeal and brand cachet intact, or has all this expansion come at the price of diluting the “Nikki Beach experience” overall?

Our team were super curious to find out, and that meant they readied their expense accounts, sunscreen and best reviewing mode to ensure that their visit to Nikki Beach Dubai would be a highly investigative one, and this is what they learned there.

Introduction – Getting To Nikki Beach Dubai

It’s Dubai, and one thing you can be assured of is that getting to Dubai is super easy as long as you have the money for a flight from wherever it is you want to start from.

That’s because the emirate invested a small fortune, during its oil-rich days, in becoming a destination and a transit hub.

Dubai Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and there’s no doubt that for a long time, people tended to pass through on their way between Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe, but now?

Now, people stay in Dubai. It’s their ultimate destination and not just a stop off, and the emirate’s tourism industry has gone from strength to strength.

Much of that industry is focused around Jumeirah, which is where Nikki Beach Dubai can be found, and that means you will probably be within a short distance of this beach club if you’re staying in a tourist hotel.

We should note that if you’re in Deira or further away, however, traffic can be rough during rush hour, and you will want to give yourself plenty of time to reach the beach club at these times of day.

When you arrive at the beach club, there’s valet parking for those who drive themselves, and if you come by taxi, you can be dropped off at the front door without an issue. In Dubai, it’s almost always too hot to expect people to walk very far.

What’s Available At Nikki Beach Dubai?

There is an attractive pool area, which is split into two sections, and comfortable seating galore. There is also a restaurant and bar service available.

This beach club is party-focused in the evenings, and there is regular entertainment, including live acts and DJs at night.

Our Detailed Review Of Nikki Beach Dubai

We consistently employ a uniform process for reviewing every beach club to ensure a just evaluation of owners, management, and staff, and to provide reviews in a standardised format that makes venue comparisons effortless.

  • The review process is outlined as follows:
  • A team is designated to assess the venue.
  • Each member must visit the beach club, with the option to visit independently and on varying days.
  • During their visit, every reviewer completes a scorecard, rating the club from 1 (least commendable) to 5 (most commendable) in designated categories, while also noting their experiences.
  •  After all team members have submitted their scorecards, they convene to discuss their observations and determine final scores for each category.
  • A designated team member then drafts the review, incorporating the team’s discussions and final scores, before it is shared on our website.

Reservation and Booking Process

We begin our review with the unsurprising letdown that is Nikki Beach Dubai’s booking process. Seven Rooms seems to have a virtual monopoly on bookings for beach clubs in the emirate.

And it shouldn’t have. These beach clubs invest millions of dollars in the details, and then when it comes to booking? They just give up and outsource to a restaurant booking platform.

The trouble is that means you can’t pick your exact seat in the venue, and frankly, when that seat (as is the case with their premium pool suites) costs 2000 AED ($550 USD) just for the privilege of sitting down (there’s another $2,200 or 8000 AED on top of that as a minimum spend too), you should be able to pick the exact one you want.

They have, at least, integrated the deposit-taking side of things in this implementation, but overall? They ought to have a much better booking engine than this.

Rating:

Ambience and Atmosphere

Maybe our expectations were too high given the brand of this beach club, but walking into Nikki Beach Club is nice enough, but there’s no immediate buzz for you to latch on to, either.

One thing about Dubai is that because people here are quite conservative, they can come in very tight-knit groups and exclude others around them.

That’s not Nikki Beach’s fault, of course, but it does mean that it can be harder to find a social side to being at this beach club, particularly early in the day.

Later on, you’ll find that things liven up and everyone starts to groove together. But you only get one chance to make a first impression, and it’s “OK” rather than “amazing”.

Rating:

Location And Accessibility

Jumeirah is without a doubt tourist central for Dubai, and you can’t ask for more from a beach club than it can be located in that area.

So, for the vast majority of potential visitors, this beach club will be on their doorstep (Dubai-style, which means a short drive away, nobody walks in the emirate, because it’s simply too hot to do so).

Parking is easy enough, and there’s a nice beach to enjoy walks on at this beach club, too.

The majority of the venue is also wheelchair accessible, which is great, but we would strongly advise talking to the venue staff there before you travel, particularly regarding pool access.

Rating:

Aesthetic And Design

We were also expecting the venue’s architecture to kind of scream “Nikki Beach” at us, and it doesn’t really.

That’s not to say it’s unpleasant; in fact, it’s gorgeous, and it will look amazing in your Instagram photos, but it just doesn’t speak to the brand.

We don’t think that matters much in a no-name beach club, but this is Nikki Beach and for those in the know, that name is something you want to convey in the images you get here.

Rating:

Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)

There’s no such thing as substandard service in Dubai. Because the emirate has one of the most relaxed immigration laws in the world, the businesses here can draw on a global talent pool.

The wages and tax free environment mean that the staff benefit when compared to their home countries and that translates into impeccable service for the customers of businesses in Dubai.

Nikki Beach is, of course, no exception to this rule and the staff here are highly focused on ensuring that the guest experience is an excellent one.

Rating:

Service Speed and Efficiency

We also felt that the professionalism in Nikki Beach wasn’t just with the frontline staff (who did a wonderful job of anticipating our needs and taking our orders) but also with the team behind the scenes.

When drinks or food are ordered, they don’t hang around, nothing is delayed beyond the time it requires to prepare and/or cook it and then it’s delivered with alacrity.

There’s something genuinely relaxing about being waited on with such attention and care to detail and beach clubs in the emirate nearly all deliver this high standard of service.

Rating:

Food Quality and Variety

The food at Nikki Beach Dubai is excellent but we did think the menu was a little limited and that while the quality was there, you were paying a bit more than you should for it.

You always know that you’re in for some sticker shock when they don’t publish the prices of items on their website.

Rating:

Beverage Selection and Creativity

The cocktail list is inspiring and each creation is gorgeous, but it’s also a bit short. We understand that curating a small selection of things means you can deliver amazing versions of each consistently, but we’d like to see a little more variety.

We also thought that selling the wine for the Sangria separately to the mix is one of the cheekiest ideas that we’ve seen in a beach club.

Rating:

Cleanliness and Hygiene

This is Dubai, hygiene is simply a given and there’s no doubt that Nikki Beach’s cleanliness standards are world class.

Rating:

Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

While we didn’t find the seating to be the best ever, we did find it pretty comfortable and wouldn’t complain about it in any other beach club.

But you are paying to sit down here and frankly for the amount you pay, it ought to feel like chilling with angels and it doesn’t quite hit that standard.

Rating:

Music and Entertainment

We were impressed with the music policy and the entertainment here. The background of the day transforms when the DJs hit the decks and the events here are intimate and exciting.

This is one area in which Nikki Beach really does much better than most of the competition in Dubai.

Rating:

Seasonality

This is Dubai, it’s going to be hot and sunny with a near certainty whenever you visit Nikki Beach Dubai.

The chances of rain are very low, indeed and it never snows. However, you should be aware that the heat of the Dubai day is extremely intense and you would be advised to spend a lot of time in the shade and to use plenty of sunscreen.

Rating:

Pricing and Value for Money

Nikki Beach is expensive and while we feel that it’s generally OK value for money in context with Dubai, the cost just to sit down on a nice seat here is not great value.

And when you compare the price of a day at this beach club to a day in Bali or Phuket? Well, then it doesn’t look like great value at all.

Rating:

Beach Access and Quality

There’s private beach access at this beach club, though it is reclaimed land and thus imported sand.

However, we would note that while it’s a very pleasant place for a stroll (in shoes), the ocean here is not great for swimming in.

Rating:

Sustainability Practices

Nikki Beach Dubai is one of the leading businesses in the beach club scene here when it comes to sustainability commitments.

They have made many public commitments in various areas of the beach club, from energy-efficient construction to their “Linen Rebirth Program” to encourage recycling of old materials.

There’s definitely still room for improvement but that’s OK, we admire the strong start in this area at Nikki Beach.

Rating:

Exclusive Perks for Guests

They’ll give you a towel, a seat and a locker at Nikki Beach and while that’s the standard in Dubai, given the high prices just to sit down at this beach club, we do feel that they could do a bit more.

We also feel that they ought to have VIP or premium tier inclusions on top of the basics, this is a big brand and people want to push the boat out when they visit, so why not let them?

Rating:

Safety and Security

Dubai is world-renowned for its safety and security. The emirate may be in the Middle East but there’s almost no crime, natural disasters, or even terrorism.

That’s because everyone takes their responsibilities on this front seriously and Nikki Beach will conduct spot checks as needed.

They also have enough security staff on the ground to ensure that if any trouble starts in the venue, it will be handled rapidly.

Rating:

Event Hosting Capabilities

Nikki Beach, in common with nearly all beach clubs in Dubai which is a MICE centre for the Middle East and beyond, has an events team that can handle all private event requests.

And we have no doubt that given the amount of experience on the ground in the emirate that they will do a great job of things as long as you have the budget.

Rating:

Consistency of Experience

To be honest, we expected nothing less than a very reliable experience at Nikki Beach and our team, the other guests that they interacted with and the online reviews all indicated that this is a place where you can be certain of a certain standard every single time you visit.

We like that but we would also note that we’d like to see evidence of a process of continuous innovation too. We feel that the very best beach clubs are always looking for greatness and that good is simply not good enough.

Rating:

Additional Amenities and Facilities

Nikki Beach Dubai has all the standard amenities and facilities that we’d expect for a day by the pool and then an evening of dancing.

The staff at the beach club are very accommodating and will try and source anything else you might need.

And if they can’t help, you’re only a short drive from anything you could possibly need in Dubai.

Rating:

Summary

There’s no doubt that the Nikki Beach brand carries a huge weight of expectations, and the thing is that this beach club in other parts of the world would probably stand out as the best offering there, but this is Dubai.

And in Dubai, every beach club is high-end, luxurious and seeking to provide the kind of experience that at least partially justifies the high price tag that comes with it. And on that basis, Nikke Beach Dubai is a good beach club, but it’s not quite a great beach club.

That doesn’t mean you will have a bad time at this place, far from it, in fact. You will have a lovely day out, but if you’re trying to find a reason to pick Nikki Beach over the other beach clubs in the emirate? It’s a much harder conversation to find that reason.

Overall, we’d be happy to recommend Nikki Beach to friends and family looking for a day out if they were in the neighbourhood, but we wouldn’t place any importance on travelling too far for it, either.

FAQs

Can You Go Swimming At Nikki Beach Dubai?

Yes, there is a very attractive pool area at Nikki Beach Dubai, and the pool is split into two sections. You can swim in the larger section easily, but the smaller section isn’t really meant for swimming, more chilling with a cocktail in hand.

The pool isn’t the largest, either, which means if swimming is a key part of your day, then you will want to ensure you get to the beach club early on, or you may miss out.

You can, in theory, swim in the ocean here, as there is direct access to the beach from Nikki Beach, but to be fair, nobody really swims in the ocean in Dubai. The water isn’t great due to the nature of the land being reclaimed, and there are risks of riptides.

We’d recommend sticking to the pool, and if swimming is a thing you really want to do, you may be better off using the hotel pool before you visit any of the emirate’s beach clubs, because Dubai is super hot, and people tend to flock to the pool in beach clubs in order to cool down.

What Is There To Do At Nikki Beach Dubai?

You can swim in the pool, eat food and drink from a reasonably extensive drinks menu, you can lounge on comfortable furniture, take a walk on the beach (as long as you are wearing something on your feet, don’t stand barefoot on sand that’s been warmed in the Dubai sun, you will burn yourself) and chat with friends.

In the evenings, there is usually some sort of entertainment available, and dancing is something that is likely to be high on most people’s agendas at Nikki Beach Dubai.

Is Nikki Beach Dubai A Child-Friendly Venue?

Sometimes. Mostly, Nikki Beach Dubai welcomes accompanied minors in the restaurant and beach areas (but not at the pool).

Please note that all guests, including children, are required to bring an ID, and you may be denied entry entirely if you can’t produce an ID when asked to do so.

However, minors are not allowed into the pool area, and there may be additional restrictions for specific events or certain days of the week. It’s strongly suggested that if you want to take kids to Nikki Beach, you call the club and ascertain the child-friendly (or not) circumstances on the day you want to visit.

You should be aware that an adult is considered to be somebody over the age of 21 in the emirate. This is often very different from the age of majority in European countries.

Who Is The Owner Of Nikki Beach Dubai?

Nikki Beach Dubai is not part of the Nikki Beach Hospitality Group. This is a family-owned concern, and it was founded by Jack Penrod, a legend of the beach club scene; however, he passed away in 2025, and it is now run by Lucia Penrod.

The Dubai version is a franchise arrangement, and while Nikki Beach Hospitality Group will have some input into the management of the venue, the owner is Dubai Holding. This is a government-backed investment consortium that owns resort and leisure properties all over the emirate.

Final Thoughts On The Review Of Nikki Beach Dubai

Nikki Beach Dubai is certainly a high-end beach club, but in a land of high-end beach clubs, does it do enough to raise the bar? We don’t think that it does.

We had a great day at this beach club and yes, we’d go back again if we had the time, money and opportunity, but that’s true for a lot of beach clubs in the emirate.

Would we choose Nikki Beach Dubai if we could go to only one beach club in the emirate or the world? No. And the thing is, when you’re paying the kind of prices they charge at this beach club, the answer to that question really should be, “yes.”
