Ayla Beach is your typical Dubai beach club. It’s an ultra-sophisticated spot that is modelled around the vibe of the 1950s and 1960s, Mediterranean towns.

The idea is that you will enjoy a Mediterranean Culinary Journey as part of your trip to Ayla Beach, and they’re very proud of the cuisine that comes out of their kitchens.

It didn’t take any persuading at all to round up a team of volunteers to review this beach club, and they all packed their loosest-fitting shorts and suntan lotion before heading off to Ayla Beach Dubai. And this is what they learned there.

Introduction – Getting To Ayla Beach, Dubai

Getting to Dubai is super easy. The international airport in the Emirate is one of the major transit hubs of the globe, and there are direct flights from almost every major city on Earth.

If you can’t fly directly, the odds are pretty good that you’ll only need to change planes once to get to Dubai.

Of course, it’s a fairly substantial distance from Australia or the Americas, but that’s geography for you. For Europeans, it’s not too far away.

Once you’re in Dubai, wherever you’re staying, Ayla Beach is not too far away. However, the traffic in Dubai can be absolutely bonkers around the rush hour, and we’d advise you to leave home with lots of time to spare if you’re intending to book your bed at that time of day.

This being Dubai, there is, of course, parking available at the beach club, and this includes valet parking. If you’re going to drink, though, we’d strongly recommend that you take a taxi as drink driving carries very strict penalties in the UAE.

What’s Available At Ayla Beach, Dubai?

Ayla Beach has a restaurant, bar, pool area and beach set up. There are many private day beds (this being the UAE, you’ll find that you can place a curtain around any area on the beach for additional privacy).

This is not a party destination, however, so don’t expect big groups of people enjoying raucous fun; it’s a place for couples, families and small groups of mates to enjoy a day out.

Our Detailed Review Of Ayla Beach Dubai

We adopt a standardised process for reviewing each beach club to promote equitable assessment of owners, management, and staff, and to provide reviews in a uniform structure that makes comparing locations effortless.

The review procedure is as follows:

  • A review team is selected to evaluate the venue.
  • All members are required to visit the beach club, though they can do so individually and not on the same day.
  • At the venue, each reviewer completes a scorecard, assigning the club a score from 1 (lowest quality) to 5 (highest quality) across designated categories, while also noting their impressions.
  • Once all scorecards are completed, the team meets to discuss their findings and agree on final category scores.
  • A selected team member then writes the review, reflecting the group’s consensus and scores, before it is published on our website.

Reservation and Booking Process

Those who follow this site will know that we are endlessly frustrated by the booking processes for beach clubs around the world, and sadly, Ayla Beach is not going to remedy that, and that’s a real shame.

You see, Ayla is a high-end beach club which charges a lot of money to enjoy its facilities and yet, if you want to make a booking? You’re stuck with a contact form.

Unless you want to make a booking for one of their events, then, you’re upgraded to WhatsApp.

This is so below the level of service we’d expect from a place that’s this upmarket, it’s insane, and it spoils your potential first impression of the beach club.

They really ought to be embarrassed by this. It would cost so little to install a quality booking engine on this website, compared to the amount that pours in out of their customers’ pockets in an afternoon on a daybed.

Rating:

Ambience and Atmosphere

And the thing is, that first impressions are not always accurate impressions, so if you do persevere with the annoyance of making bookings without a decent system, you will be rewarded.

This is an exceptionally beautiful place, and it’s incredibly serene during the course of the day. You will feel like royalty just walking through the door.

And while it’s not a party hotspot, it does warm up in the evenings, and if you want a cool place to kick back with friends over some drinks, the atmosphere is spot on for that.

Rating:

Location And Accessibility

We would say that Dubai is one of the world’s most accessible places, and if you can’t get to the Emirate in a relatively straightforward way, you probably need to talk to a travel agent.

However, despite the incredible investments in urban transport infrastructure in Dubai over recent years, there’s still a bit of traffic on the roads, particularly in rush hour.

That can leave you struggling to get to the front door of this beach club on time for a reservation. But if you make your reservation or time your departure from your hotel with this in mind, you’ll be fine.

In theory, it’s about an hour at most from the hotels in this part of the UAE, but it might be a much longer journey too.

Rating:

Aesthetic And Design

There’s no getting around the fact that this beach club is dramatically attractive. Now, if you’ve spent any time in Dubai, then you will know that everything in the emirate is in constant competition to be bigger, brighter and more beautiful than everything else.

This is no bad thing, and it guarantees that you will want to take a camera with you and get snapping (just remember that the local culture requires some sensitivity when it comes to photographing strangers on the beach).

However, it also means that the competition to be the “best” is extremely fierce, and while we liked Ayla Beach Club’s looks a lot, it’s probably not the best here in Dubai.

Rating:

Staff Friendliness and Professionalism (Service Standard)

We can’t remember the last time that we had bad service in Dubai’s hospitality industry. We don’t think it even exists any more. Sure, you may have to deal with a trainee who is a little slower than their more experienced peers, but as far as friendliness and professionalism go?

It’s guaranteed. Ayla Beach can clearly dip into the top end of that incredible talent pool, and the staff at this beach club are extremely switched on.

Whatever you need, if it’s within their power, it will be done, and they will be happy to talk you through the menu or to answer any questions you may have about the beach club or Dubai in general.

They are a credit to the brand and one of the real highlights of a day at Ayla Beach.

Rating:

Service Speed and Efficiency

In the same fashion as friendliness and professionalism, you just know that everything will be delivered to your table on time and looking amazing.

There are no delays between your order and the order being conveyed to the bar and kitchen staff. The only wait period is the time to cook it or make a drink, and then, boom! It’s at your table.

They don’t even hang around when you ask for the bill here, which is nice. We like being able to ask for a check and pay, rather than being forced to hang out somewhere for another hour staring at the ceiling with empty glasses in front of us.

Rating:

Food Quality and Variety

There’s no doubt that if you like Mediterranean food, you’re going to be very happy at Ayla Beach. Now, of course, that does mean that it’s not quite as wide a range of food at some other beach clubs, though they do also have sushi.

Overall, though, while the food is definitely on the pricey side, it’s all delicious and so beautifully presented that you’re not going to complain about the value for money.

The Dibba Bay Oyster Tempura is divine, and the seared Tuna Tataki is next level. But the star of the show for us was the Ayla Butcher Platter, a meat feast that felt like it had come down from heaven just to delight us.

Rating:

Beverage Selection and Creativity

Alcohol is never cheap in Dubai, and that’s the only reason Ayla Beach loses a point in this section. The cocktail list has to be one of the broadest that we’ve ever encountered; even specialist cocktail bars would struggle to cope with it.

Every drink is painstakingly prepared so that it looks exactly as it should for your Instagram feed.

And they don’t stint on the alcohol, which means that in the Dubai sun, you ought to be making every other drink non-alcoholic; fortunately, the mocktails are gorgeous too.

Rating:

Cleanliness and Hygiene

This has to be one of the cleanest beach clubs that we’ve ever seen, and by and large, we find that most beach clubs work very hard to remain immaculate throughout the venue.

The swimming pool may be huge, but the water is clear, transparent and sparkles delightfully in the sun’s rays.

The changing rooms and toilets are so clean that you could probably dine in them (though, please don’t).

Rating:

Comfort of Seating and Lounging Areas

All that money in Dubai means people do not settle for second best when it comes to seating, and the daybeds at the Ayla Beach feel every bit as luxurious as they look.

You’re going to look amazing in your social media feed when you start snapping away, and you’ll feel like a million bucks.

It’s a great spot for a whole day lounging by the pool and barely moving, which, in the heat of the day, nobody in Dubai is going to want to do anyway.

Rating:

Music and Entertainment

The music is fine. You might expect a bit more from a venue that’s owned by the biggest nightclub in Dubai, but it’s just OK.

Overall, that’s fine by us; this isn’t a party venue, it’s an upmarket and sophisticated lounging area, and that means music that fades into the background as needed.

Even the nighttime change of pace doesn’t really lend their music policy much of an identity.

Rating:

Seasonality

This is Dubai. It’s hot and sunny today, it’ll be hot and sunny tomorrow, and it was hot and sunny yesterday too. The emirate sees rain about three times a year, and even that doesn’t last long.

The odds of you having anything but boiling hot weather and lots of sunshine are so small that they’re not worth talking about.

Now, it can be too hot in Dubai, so please make sure you take a lot of sunscreen and spend a lot of time in the shade.

Rating:

Pricing and Value for Money

It’s Dubai, it’s expensive, and it’s that simple. Ayla Beach is actually pretty good value when compared to other clubs in Dubai.

But when compared on an international scale, it’s going to cost a lot of money to spend some time here, and we’re not sure that everyone will think that represents value for money.

After all, when all is said and done, this is a day by the pool, not a massive party with international-grade DJs.

Rating:

Beach Access and Quality

The beach here is made entirely of reclaimed land, and the sand, amusingly, has to be imported for the surfacing.

It’s kept clean and tidy, though, and the beach club staff are never going to allow it to be anything other than pristine.

You can’t really swim in the sea here, though. Which is a bit of a drawback for a day by the ocean, but more common than you might think nowadays. The planet’s oceans are a bit of a mess.

Rating:

Sustainability Practices

The Ayla Beach and its owners have made some public sustainability commitments regarding the sourcing of ingredients as well as the use of plastics.

However, there’s no detailed public reporting against targets and goals, and while commitments are a good starting point, we have to say that in 2025, we would like to see something that indicates progress.

Sustainability doesn’t seem to be as big an issue for beach club visitors as it might be, given the media attention it gets, but it should be.

Rating:

Exclusive Perks for Guests

You get a towel, locker and a daybed at Ayla Beach, and frankly, that’s about the standard for the Dubai beach club scene.

Sadly, we feel this is a missed opportunity for the beach club to offer its customers more services and greater value.

We want VIP passes with better seats, free sunscreen, sunglasses cleaning, etc., and we don’t mind paying for it, so why is nowhere set up to take our money?

Rating:

Safety and Security

They don’t muck about when it comes to security in the Gulf, and while the security measures are subtle, they’re very much there.

As with all places that serve alcohol in Dubai, they have a very big, burly security team who will take immediate action should anybody start to cause any issues in the venue.

The good news is that in Dubai, that kind of behaviour is much rarer than it is in other parts of the world.

Rating:

Event Hosting Capabilities

The dedicated in-house events team at Ayla Beach can handle almost every function and size of event without breaking a sweat.

Dubai is one of the MICE capitals of the universe, and nearly every place has the experience you need to run an event of any kind for you.

Rating:

Consistency of Experience

Our team, the customers they spoke to and the online reviews all say the same thing: this beach club delivers an extremely consistent experience.

However, everyone also felt that this is a place that very much rests on its laurels; unless the market demands it reinvents and improves on that experience, it won’t.

Rating:

Additional Amenities and Facilities

They have pretty much everything you could need for a day in the Dubai heat at this beach club and if they don’t have it, you can probably have it delivered or find it within a short drive.

Rating:

Summary

Ayla Beach is an excellent example of what beach clubs can be like in Dubai, and our only real complaint is the dire booking system, which they really should have dealt with a long time ago.

Overall, though the place is attractive, the staff are excellent and the food and drinks are super tasty.

Of course, this is Dubai, and it doesn’t come cheap, but if you’re going to spend any time in the emirate at all, you will know that most things don’t come cheaply there. It’s not the Dubai way.

FAQs

Can You Go Swimming At Ayla Beach Dubai?

Yes! Ayla Beach has a very nice swimming pool area, which is subdivided into several sections to enable families, individuals and groups to enjoy the pool at the same time while ensuring that local sensibilities are not offended.

They also offer beach access, but this being Dubai, nobody really swims in the ocean here. The water is not really great for swimming, and with that amazing pool in Ayla Beach? Who needs to swim in the ocean?

You will be pleased to know that the beach club provides excellent towels, and there is no need to bring your own with you. In fact, you will find you’re not allowed to use your own towels in the pools or changing rooms at this beach club.

What Is There To Do At Ayla Beach Dubai?

Ayla Beach is a place for relaxing, reading books, chilling by the pool, swimming, eating, drinking and talking with friends and family.

It’s not a socialising place and it’s most definitely not a party venue. So, as long as you want an easy day out in Dubai, you’ll be happy enough here.

Is Ayla Beach Dubai A Child-Friendly Venue?

Yes. During the day, children are welcome in Ayla Beach Club and may access the majority of the club without any problems.

However, once the sun starts to set, children are expected to vacate this beach club as the venue then becomes an over-21s spot.

Who Is The Owner Of Ayla Beach Dubai?

Ayla Beach Dubai is owned by BLU Dubai, which is one of the emirate’s hottest nightclubs. We were unable to ascertain the exact ownership of this corporate structure, but it is a locally owned entity.

Final Thoughts On The Review Of Ayla Beach Dubai

The funny thing about Dubai is that luxury is a standard in the emirate, and frankly, for the kind of prices they charge for everything, it ought to be.

Ayla Beach is posh casual. It’s a place where you can spend a pleasant afternoon sweltering in the Dubai sun and jumping in the pool to cool off every now and again.

In the evenings, the tempo picks up a little, but not a lot, and you can enjoy a relaxed time with friends and family, enjoying drinks and background music.

Anywhere else in the world, the Ayla Beach would be a serious standout, rivalling the best hotel beach clubs. In Dubai, it’s just very good, as long as you can afford it, that is.
